This is a really enjoyable course to play, lots of different levels and contours to keep your mind alert. The greens are stunning and always very quick. You will enjoy this course immensely. 

The practice area itself is a joy to be on with wonderful views across the course.

This is a great place to play and stay.

Villa Padierna Golf

This is a wonderful resort with two excellent golf courses and practice facilities.

The Flamingos course is a joy to play with some wonderful holes, the par 4 10th hole is a fantastic hole to play, elevated tee to a landing area, club selection is vital, then a tough second shot to a green with plenty of water around it.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience will be had.

This is a fantastic location to stay and play your golf.

San Roque Golf

The whole San Roque estate has an amazing pedigree. Originally the home of the Domeq Sherry family the resort opened for golf in 1991 to high acclaim.

Whilst the Ryder Cup was held at neighbouring Valderamma San Roque hosted the two teams and their names are still by the rooms they stayed in.

The two courses have met acclaim as well, both hosting the Spanish Open which bears testament to their quality.

These courses are a joy to play. 

Well Maintained golf courses

Your never going to get perfection everywhere however it is hard to find fault with any golf course in Spain, the golf industry is large, especially on the Costa’s and the time and effort that is put in to make it a great experience for thousands of people is immense.

The Cadiz area boasts some of the best courses in the world.

Getting around

If it is a large group then the most cost effective way is transfers. 2 to 4 people then it is probably hiring your own vehicle that is the most sensible way to get around.

Spanish Food & Beverage

Simple, wholesome but always fantastic.

Whether it be tapas, (amazing) or fish and steaks the Mediterranean diet is wonderful.  Always fresh, wonderful sun ripened tomatoes  and lashings of olive oil.

The food is most definitely to be enjoyed.  

Spanish wine is acknowledged the world over and it always tastes better with that sun beating down.

Sherry is very important and a visit to a sherry house is a must.

Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Resort is situated between Marbella, Benahavís and Estepona. A perfect location for great golf.

Andalusian haute cuisine is the food of choice here with seafood always in plentiful supply.

When is the best time of year to play golf in Spain?

Spain is the ideal all year round destination for golf. The choice is yours with regards to heat, warm or hot, depending on time of year.

What about the language barrier?

There is absolutely no problems with language in Spain, the tourist areas are massively geared up with English being spoken fluently in most places. As ever to learn the basics of the country you are visiting is always good.

Golf clubs

Club hire is big business in most areas of Spain so you have a choice of taking your own or hiring. My personal choice is always to take your own, no excuses then.

It’s a busy golf country?

Ensuring you are on time and organised, there will be lots of people playing with you. At the higher end courses the tee times will be spaced out a bit more so as not to be too rushed on the course.
