Imagine an idyllic location with amazing views, wonderful people, gourmet food, 5* accommodation, golf courses you want to play again and again.
Don’t imagine, just go to Costa Navarino!
Having had the pleasure of being invited to enjoy the facilities at Costa Navarino it is with authority I can say as a golf resort, with a number (4) of golf courses I have never been to a better place in the world. I am sure there are places to match it, I have have yet to see them.
Everything about the resort exudes quality. The accommodation, you have lots of choice, The Westin, The Romanos, The W and the soon to be opened Mandarin Oriental hotel. I stayed in The Westin hotel, with incredible views of the Ionian Sea. The resort was fantastic, so much choice in terms of restaurants, bars, pools and sporting activities. Also on this resort is The Romanos Hotel.
The service level was top class, really high level with a keen eye for detail. I would have to try really hard to attempt to find an issue or a problem, in fact there wasn’t any.
The W hotel and the Mandarin Oriental have their own restaurants and eateries in the Navarino Waterfront area. Again so much choice both in accommodation and dining opportunities.
So where is Costa Navarino? The luxury resort located in the Peloponnese region of Greece is fast becoming THE golf resort in Europe. As well as the hotels and golf there are plenty of fantastic beaches and swimming opportunities. Costa Navarino is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Greek Riviera.
The golf, as you know is important to the company, alongside the culture and cuisine of the country’s we send people to, the four courses at Costa Navarino are absolutely superb.
The International Olympic Academy Golf Course
The International Olympic Academy Golf Course is one of the two new courses located at Costa Navarino. The designer was José María Olazábal and the grand opening occurred in 2022. The course is 6,366 yards long and has a par of 72. The views on the back 9 are truly spectacular. It is hard to describe here how breath-taking the views are. The best way of knowing is simply go and see for yourself, you will not be disappointed. It is set against the backdrop of the Ionian Sea and the mountains of Messenia. I did not want my round to end, not because of my golf but the views that the area was providing.
The course is a test for sure with some challenging par 3s with ravines and valleys waiting for the errant shot. The variety of tee boxes helps to accommodate golfers of all skill levels.
The course has hosted numerous professional tournaments, including the Costa Navarino Aegean Masters.
Dunes Golf Course Costa Navarino
The Dunes Course was designed by Bernhard Langer and opened in 2010. Again the Ionian Sea features along the course providing a variety of challenges, including water hazards, sand dunes, and rolling hills.
The Dunes Course is a beautiful and challenging course that is sure to test even the best golfers. It is a great place to enjoy the game of golf and the stunning scenery of Greece.
Hills Golf Course Costa Navarino
Costa Navarino Hills golf course is a championship golf course that was also designed by José María Olazábal and opened in 2016. The course is set on 500 hectares of land and offers stunning views of the Ionian Sea. It is a challenging course with a variety of holes. The course sits above the tree canopy and shows off the wonderful inland scenery of the area.
The Costa Navarino Hills golf resort also features a fantastic clubhouse where you can sit with a local wine in hand staring out across Navarino Bay. There is an extensive pro shop as well as excellent driving range, and a practice putting green facilities. The resort also offers a variety of dining options, including a fine dining restaurant, a casual restaurant, and a bar.
Bay Golf Course Costa Navarino
The Bay Course at Costa Navarino is a 71-par, 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The course is located in a beautiful seaside setting and offers stunning views of the Ionian Sea. The course is set within the grounds of The Westin and Romanos Hotels.
The course plays differently throughout all 18 holes, there are holes running alongside the shoreline, you then meander up in to the hills and then swoop down in to the canyon.
The Bay Course is a great place to play golf, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Greece. The course is well-maintained and offers a variety of challenges for golfers of all skill levels.
Verdict
This is a 5* plus experience all round. Extremely organised, amazing natural surroundings, golf courses that are an absolute joy to play. What else! Food and wine of the highest quality. Service levels of the highest quality.
