Seville
Seville - A fantastic weekend away
Seville is a wonderful city, might sound daft but so Spanish, so traditional.
Home of Flamenco dancing which is a real treat to watch. Seville has lots to offer for a short break.
There is an abundance of Spanish history within the City, the Giralda tower, the Cathedral and the Real Alcázar of Seville are some of the historic sites to see.
Seville is a lively city with lots of open spaces, street guitarists and Flamenco.
Food, well tapas in the old town would be the first choice, marinated fish, snails, small rolls all washed down with a cold beer or local wine.
There are three excellent golf courses to play, Real Clube de Seville is a tremendous golf course and complex. Designed by Jose Maria Olazbal when he was in his twenties the course has been used for the Spanish Open.
It will be a round of golf that will live in the memory for sure.
Club Zaudin is about 30 minutes from Seville but definitely worth the short journey. The course is designed by Gary Player who states the 17th hole is one of the best he has every designed.
Real Club Pineda again is about 30 minutes from the centre of Seville, the course has lots of history and feels very much like a parkland course.
Golf, culture, cuisines over a long weekend sounds just what’s required.

Golf courses in Seville
Real Club Seville Golf
The Spanish Open numerous times, the Andalucian and Seville Open. The WGC-World Golf Championship. That’s the pedigree of the course here at Real Club Seville Golf.
Designed by Jose Maria Olazabal, one of the first he designed, well he made a really good fist of it.
The course is always in impeccable condition, you know when you drive through the gates you are entering a special place. The huge club house and the whole complex comprising of swimming pools, paddle and tennis courts is a site to behold.
This is a course you will want to play and play again. If out on a short break I would certainly play this twice!
Club Zaudin
As soon as the name Gary Player is mentioned in any form of golf you know it is going to be good. Gary was the designer of this course, one of only a handful of courses he designed in Western Europe, so we are a little bit privileged to be able to play the course.
Situated outside of the city of Seville you will find a course that meanders its way through olive and orange groves with plenty of undulations to keep your golfing brain interested.
There is a strong start to the course and definitely a strong finish. Hole 17 Gary Player says is one of the best holes he has ever designed.
Hole 18 is a hole you have to play with some straight hitting, if not you will walk away with not a lot, a really great finishing hole.
Real Club Pineda
The golf course at Real Club Pineda has been around since the 1940’s as a 9 hole course then developed in to an 18 hole course in the early 1990’s. The course is tree lined, through an old grove and has a definite feel of a parkland course. It is part of a bigger sporting complex with show jumping and a horse race track forming part of it.
To have three excellent courses in Seville makes for a great long golfing weekend.
