Sri Lanka is a most enigmatic country and island with so much to see and do. We bring forward a superb itinerary covering some of the great areas of the country with some fantastic golf thrown in as well. With so much to do we can cater for all your needs and build your itinerary to exactly suit you. From amazing, tranquil beaches and historic sites to jaw dropping landscapes and food to get every taste bud tingling. Sri Lanka has something for everyone. Culture, wildlife, snorkelling, diving and so much more. Sri Lanka has an abundance of natural places of history that has built it’s culture through so many different era’s. There is the Uda Walawe National Park with it’s savannah grassland where you can see buffalo, crocodiles, deer and Indian elephants, amazing. Food is extremely important in Sri Lanka and is a massive part of life, so wherever you are on the island you will find great food. Everything is bursting with flavour, full of spice and rich aromas. On the itinerary provided below are the accommodation and the golf courses in more detail.
Sri Lanka 10 day Itinerary
Day 1
Ayubowan! (May you live long)
Upon arrival to the island of Sri Lanka, you will be met by our airport officials who will guide you to the VIP silk route to fast track your immigration process. You will be led to the Silk Route airport lounge and indulge in a welcome snack while the airport officials gather your baggage and prepare them for your journey.
You will be met and welcomed by your travel host from ArTravele, Dream Golf Holidays representatives and organisers in Sri Lanka and be given a brief of your program until you are ready to leave towards your first hideaway in the cultural triangle.
Pass through the authentic villages and scenic roads as you head towards your first hideaway in Sigiriya.
En route you will stop by an elephant welfare project where you will get the opportunity to walk, feed, engage and bath an elephant and afterwards visit the foundation to learn of its work.

Day 2
Wake up early morning to see the view of the 8th World Wonder peering through your window. After a quick breakfast, head off to begin your ascent to the peak of the ancient rock as you learn of its tales. Be marvelled as you are guided through its steps to reach the top. Enjoy the magnificent views from above and head back after descending.
Spend the afternoon at your hideaway and then make your way towards the Minneriya National Park to see herds of majestic elephants grazing on the foliage available in abundance. Explore the terrain in a fully equipped 4x4 jeep as you wander around in search for the colourful wildlife of Sri Lanka.
Return to your hideaway for your final night in the cultural triangle before you continue your journey.

Day 3
Today you will make your way to the last Kingdom of Sri Lanka, Kandy. En route visit a Batik factory where you can join in with the employees who will help you with the process to make your very own piece of batik cloth.
Continue on your journey towards the Capital. As you begin your ascent, notice the change in atmosphere as the brush turns lush green and the air becomes lighter. Upon reaching Kandy, check in to your hideaway and enjoy the pleasures of the infinity pool that overlooks Kandy Town in all its glory.
In the evening you have the opportunity of visiting the Temple of the Tooth to witness the evening worship and offerings. You will be guided through the whole session and have the stories related to you.
Return to your hideaway for your overnight stay.

Day 4
After breakfast today you will head towards the Victoria Golf & Country Resort to play a round of golf. The Victoria golf course is a pristine 18 hole golf course built near the Victoria dam and reservoir that allows a calm and amazing environment to play golf.
Spend the day playing a game of golf before heading back to your hideaway to spend the rest of the day relaxing.

Day 5
Meet your travel host after breakfast who will take you to your next destination. En route visit the temple trilogy of Kandy to see the magnificent art and architecture of the old temples found in the outskirts of the city.
After your check in enjoy your lunch before taking to the streets with your travel host who will give a show around the town of Nuwara Eliya. Visit the popular post office and the racecourse and take a walk through the market place at its centre before retiring to your hideaway.

Day 6
Wake up to the cool morning air and warm yourself up with the hot cup of tea before tugging along your golf bag while heading to the oldest golf course in Sri Lanka. The Nuwara Eliya Golf Course was founded in the late 1880s making it one of the oldest golf clubs in Asia. Set in the middle of the town, the golf course is a beautiful spot of nature amidst the hustle and bustle of the town.
Enjoy a serene game of Golf before returning to your hideaway

Day 7
Wake up to the cool morning air one last time before leaving towards the warmer beaches down South. You have the option of taking a domestic flight or sticking to the warm tarmac as you make your way towards the Hambantota
If you opt to go by road, you can hop on board the Nanu Oya-Ella Train in the afternoon as it passes through seas of tea bushes and forests of pine. The sceneries with cascading waterfalls and lush green hills is a sight for sore eyes. Add on a few layers as the air becomes cooler and the atmosphere becomes fresher. Be met by your travel host at the train station who will continue your journey to your hideaway.
Check in to your hideaway and spend the rest of the evening relaxing.

Day 8
Enjoy a full day playing golf at the resort golf course at the Shangri La. The newest golf course Sri Lanka has to offer, this specific course has unique feature as it lays right next to the ocean. The course offers unrivalled beauty as it spreads across the land bordering the lapping waves.
Experience the features of the hideaway in the evening.

Day 10
You have the option of visiting a Cinnamon Plantation today.
After breakfast you will head to a Cinnamon Plantation where you will partake in a guided walk through the plantation. Learn the process of Cinnamon pealing and all the varying properties it has. You will visit the Amabalama overlooking the scenic landscape and learn about the different infusions and uses of Cinnamon. Be invited for a cinnamon infused tea and enjoy the experience put together for you. Afterwards you will return to your hideaway to relax and enjoy your last day in Sri Lanka
You will then head towards the airport in time to catch your flight back home.
Day 9
Awaken to the sound of the crashing waves and the amazing breakfast before heading towards your final destination, Talpe. After breakfast hop on to the southern expressway and whisk on towards Galle. Stop by the fortified city as you learn of the history of Ceylon.
Spend the day walking along the cobble stoned paths of the fort as your host relates the ancient stories that come along with it. Be met by a local who grew up in Galle as he takes you through the City exploring the art and architecture of its grander times.
Check in to your hideaway for your overnight.

Sri Lanka offers so much, from forest to sea. The sights to take in are breath-taking, the wildlife, the scenery the tea and coffee plantations. This is a most wonderful country to explore.
