Zagaleta Hidden Tree
In this blog we will showcase an excellent selection of golf courses and resorts the Costa Del Sol has to offer. It is quite impossible to cover all options and as you know we like to provide for you the best courses and accommodation for you to enjoy to the full.
Having played a lot of the courses on this wonderful coast there are always surprises in life and Zagaleta Hidden Tree is one of those. Off limits to most people for many years but now on the agenda of the discerning golfer. Dream Golf Holidays has access to Zagaleta and the wonderful Hidden Tree Golf Course.
So as soon as the skies are re-opened we will be there to take a tour of the exclusive resort and play this wonderful course. We will keep you posted. It’s great to have another magnificent option not too far away.
Villa Padierna
Theres just something about this place that I really, really like. Driving in to the resort, seeing the golf holes to your left and right just fills you with excitement, seeing the magnificent structure of the hotel imposing itself above the golf courses. The tone is set for a great day.
Two excellent golf courses are on site, The Flamingos and Alferini.
Villa Padierna and The Flamingos Course
The Flamingos course is really enjoyable to play, it is always in superb condition, its never failed to impress me when I have played it. There is plenty of variety throughout the 18 holes. The par 4 10th hole is a stunner, water all down the left of an elevated tee, choose the correct club to hit the landing area, then a difficult second to a green edged with water…..good luck.
I also needed, for research, to play the Alferini Course. I had heard lots about it and how difficult it was, it didn’t disappoint!
Alferini Golf Course
This is a tough golf course, extremely strategic but still magical to play and set in a fantastic landscape. You have to play it to tick it off the list and hopefully to say you bossed it. I don’t normally say take plenty of balls with you, but for this course…..please do!
Finca Cortesin
Before I started Dream Golf Holidays I had watched Finca Cortesin on the t.v. And thought wow how good would it be to play there. Fortunately I have now and I know you would all enjoy it to.
Everything about the resort is stunning, the service, more than first class, the food, I have had food there at different functions and a truly sumptuous breakfast with a few golfing friends, all of a top quality. Sat eating breakfast looking out on to the practice range, for a golfer it is just pure heaven.
The course itself is a tough but enjoyable nut to crack. Remember you are playing a European Tour Event course that held the Volvo Masters and now will host the Solheim Cup.
Little touches like being provided with a bag with water and fruit as you are playing the course, and then being stopped by the cart to be provided with a portion of Gazpacho. It really does give you a sense of where you are and the quality of resort you are at.
Finca Cortesin Driving Range & Course
Stay at either Villa Padierna or Finca Cortesin for an amazing luxury golfing holiday, playing 4 golf courses that will live long in the memory.
There are so many other great options on the Costa Del Sol but this should provide a great flavour of what is available.
